"Walter"

Walter was a good kid in his own right
Didn't find his callin' til' he began to write
A smart kid who got good grades, da silent type
Observant, always had a great love for life
But wasn't truly fulfilled til' he picked up a mic
He felt like a hero, set free from da ills n da strife
A force like Christ wit a guiding light

Honed his skills in playgrounds, talents shows, cats knew he was nice
Wrote plays wit his classmates dey would later on, act n recite
Ran home, penned raps at night
It was like, a bond started to form
Scribin' in his notepad watchin' ThunderCats n Voltron
Mischievous at times,
As he grew so did his gift for dem rhymes

After track, bowling, football, n b-ball
Poetry da next thing dat captured his mind
But in our travels there's always breaks in continuum lines
As he evolved himself, he was beginning to find
Everything in this world ain't a bed of roses
Da ones dat do you dirty, be da closest
People wit different agenda's n snakes wit similar prose's

Watch where you step, dem tracks carry high voltage
Walter miss's how grandma n grandpa used to coach em'
Along wit others, they injected morals at a gigantic dosage
Their prayer's kept em' safe in dem streets when Walter started floatin'
Nose wide-open from chicks he started strokin'
Daddy long pokin
Was told he was like Moses, 1 of many chosen
He couldn't see it, so he rebelled
Continued down this wrong path for a spell
Walter n his mom never really jelled

No sign of his real father
When he was old enough to have his own family wit his wife n she left
His soul felt abducted like Taylor Lautner
Depressed, saddened, heartbroke, n confused
Dat shit really almost killed Walter
Real talk!
No sitcom like "Da Parkers"
She claim she took it hard
Walter said he took it HARDER
Cause it was somethin' he was proud to build, help create n be apart of

((But before dat, he wanna take it back before he get ahead of himself cause his brain began to wander))

Middle of senior year, grandma had died
A little later grandpa followed behind
For the whole family, it became a tumultuous grind
Walter was lost for a minute, he couldn't respond
He lost his best friend
Also da one who taught em' about, courage n discipline
Temptation n sin
And they said no matter how bleak or any situation your in, believe in God n have faith in Him
Or even better have faith within
Walter remembered those valuable lessons even as his life took on a cycle spin

For a while, things were shaky n murky then
94' wit his girl at da time had his first seed
Didn't work between da two but Walter knew, he still had responsibilities
Strugglin' to appease, took any job just to succeed
Found himself caught up in court appearance's, judge's n pleas

Walter kept feelin' pressure
from a daughter dat he know, dat he had to feed
In n out, he didn't spend enough time to some degree
Child support ate his check up almost every week
Til' this day Walter still behind da 8ball in da background like a pedigree
At one point he actually had a good history but couldn't find a job
datz when he fell in a hole n da pipe had began to leak

And da government don't care where you get da cash from
They'll suspend your license, put a warrant out for your arrest, lock you up til' you pay some kind of fee
Many years passed as he deals wit dat weight currently
When his options grew smaller still tried his best to generate some currency
Feelin' like an OutKast like Andre 3000 in society
Unemployment, welfare lines feelin' thee affects of poverty in a messed up economy
But dat came later

In da middle

Walter got married to a woman who became a damn traitor
Raise another man's son like he was his own n had two girls wit her later
Her n Walter thought they were soul mates, always had her back right there even when she hit labor
Had there fair share of laughter n good times but it never equaled up to da paper
After awhile trust became somethin' they used n abused to get a favor

Off n on, there path's kept runnin' back like an Oakland Raider
And they both had their share of mistakes
Loyalty is a oath dat you never should break
They tried a clean video slate but Warner Wolf dat ain't shit you can fix wit no tape

On both sides a foul stench of Infidelity draped
Kids in da middle, da shits a disgrace!
They allowed da enemy to creep in dey home n walk all ova their place
Eventually, Walter n her divorced n filed those memories in a crate
Never spoke or saw each other
again, he'd probably spit in her face
Eye know most reading this can relate

And Walter went on to use this as a reminder
Asked God to help his spirit heal, set those demons in a grinder
He prayed for forgiveness n to give em' better sight of deez slick anaconda's
Forget about da past n look forward toward to da future
In time, Walter knows God will have a better suitor
Nothin' last forever as he just sat n pondered

Everyone has a path to walk in itself, Hardest battle you will face is da one wit yo' self
Yea
Timing's everything!
If done correctly
Walter know's deep down marriage still a consecrated beautiful thing
Not just da sound or what you get out, but what both put in has such a beautiful ring
If eye could speak wit Walter right now, write thru da screen
I know he would say datz da way a union is supposed to be between a King n his Queen

"HeartBeat"

Loaded stacks
Tryna grow it back
Most invitations don't come unless dey come wit a catch
Cracked Levee's
What's held inside needs to be release cause it's heavy
Outlines of a soothin' medley
Remember when I used to ride around in a broken beat-up Chevy
Now my scripts span farther den da Serengeti
Everybody got good intentions
Til' you up n cross em'
Nuggets thrown like Ty Lawson

Being real ain't in everyone's DNA
Datz why you don't see me around, eye speed away
I'm allergic!
It's a inner trait you can't purchase
What's ya worth if less is all you twerkin'
Heart beat fast, I ain't in to what you servin'
Eye can see around curves of ya canvas features
People take ya kindness for a weakness
Give em' an inch, dey stay suckin' on ya blood like leeches

I'm a different creature
Cat's bump my music thru dey speakers
Dey know what i spit is meant to uplift
If you don't like it, den tough shit!
Pussy!
Eye report what deez politicians won't dick
Our environments is so sick
Deez pricks don't know what it's like to be broke wit no chips
Heartbeatin' so hard, ya clothes flyin' off ya whole strip
Exposed like a hoe's clit

Strippin' for cash for school or to support dey young pit
No job!
No friends!
No family!
No whip!, raise another man's child n you da one dey come get
For some
All it take is words of encouragement
I'll never compromise my loyalty just to jerk you
Everything dat happens eventually comes full circle
But datz just me!

I'm a product of da underdawg under y'all nod ya head!, listen to my heart beat for da cause
Cause when I'm gone, ya gonna miss my love like Lou Rawls
If nothin' else, Shine true to what he spew pa
Datz my Q!,
Schoolboy
Eye live in dat studio too!
One "Flew
Over Da Cuckoo's Nest"
Like "Chief" Bromden, believed to be silent, muted, n deaf

Don't need it all bro, eye can do more wit less
Value what eye have, let my heart capture da rest
And when dat heart stop beatin' under my flesh
I guarantee
People won't treasure deez scribes til' A.D
After my death

"Came A Long Way"

Press the link below & check out the audio, Peace!!

You came a long way away just from being my friend
What I know now wish eye woulda knew back then
Pain is pleasure
Like others fell in dat trend
Our paired hearts used to be 1 dayz on end
Used to use hands to caress our skin
At some point we lost sight of what's important n resentment had crept on in

Some said, what we had wasn't love it was built on sin
Way before da physical n verbal altercations
Things took a turn for da worse when we stop communicatin'
Solely on da basis on what we never allocated
It's a shame when two people outgrow one another n they whole union just becomes outdated
Came up together glad just to even make it

No one believed in y'all except them as far as their relations
Experience teaches us dat it takes patience
A certain special kind of motivation
Courage n trust
Workin' as one
Even tho you be young, long as you worked hard you knew it would come
Somewhere along da lines it becomes a job, less of da fun

Family only thing holding y'all together under da sun
But when it rained, it poured
You start finding ways to cut da umbilical cord
Words tossed around become weapons like swords
Walk around cold inside like bodies in morgue's
Just to speak one sentence to each other used to be easy, now you find it a chore

A house of laughter, no one smilin' no more
Nobody wants to be da first to turn they back n walk outta da door
Da fire is gone
What was once sacred, now a finality torn
Judge's, Court, Lawyer's Up!, papers were drawn

Flesh riddled wit scorn
Tears mixed wit "Cheers", check ya temperature yo!, it isn't da norm
Nothin' left to do but pick up pieces keep movin' along
It isn't a game, this is life wit triumph's n continuous storms
But how you handle outcome's builds character n makes you strong
Jesus Christ
Came a long way from bein' reborn

"Hearin' Voices"

Hearin' voice's in my head homie constantly
Such a tragedy, they wreak havoc!
Scared to close my eyes, all eye see is black magic
Past moral crimes stickin' to me like a magnet
A billion knives enter me stab my memories
It's like a trilogy, comin' at me all angles
Tangled in between da webs of da life I led

To all my people yo!, remain strong
Never meant to hurt da ones dat I did wrong
And to da ones who tried to do me harm
When all I did was give support n extend my arm
Your times comin'!
Shawn's Godson, nigga you'll get pissed on!

Shine da light, Sonny cats in da ring wit dis mic like I'm Liston
Voices trigger my emotions here on this one, cells torture Chambers like Tom it's da Phoenix Sun
Deez barz radiate thru my solar system like a packed prison
Disloyal men n women!, preyin' on da fam like Lathan n Robin Givens
Shades of gray, backstabbin faces similar in da end like a prism
Invade my vision
N why do people praise ya more in death den when ya livin'?

I might be shy but I ain't never timid
My nigga Biggie said, "Skys Da Limit"
Betrayal what eye can't forgive, der's no honor in it!
I would say ya name, but faggots don't deserve da fame
Call Mook, dey deserve da bizness!!!
You know who you are bitch!, stop da gimmicks
Cats mad at me cause I'm honest in deez lyric's
Slam you like Onyx when I'm finished
Toss ya fallible rhetoric in ever sentence

Go get a switch, dis gon' leave some welts fool dis a painful whippin'
Now do I build or annihilate da competition?
I swear deez voice's in my head yo!, dey got me trippin'
Old skool Prince Markie Dee wit compositions
Revolutionary Visionary like Pac wit no pot to pis in
Poppin' up in blogs, expose you broads in a instance
Rich or Poor, money won't blind me nor will it stop da mission
Public Officials get nervous when dey see deez verses
Eye still murk you while I'm layin' in a deep slumber
Internet online at da welfare line, we just another number
A bengal like Boomer 2nd comin', I'm a Gunnar!

Gunnin' for you politician's opposin' all y'all fake promises n propositions
Our neighborhoods is still full of gangs n drugs, murder rate steady goin' up
Pssst, Pssst ((talk to em'))
Voice's still Run Amok!
Eye see a sea of dudes love dey seeds but babymamma runnin' Wilds like Mack straight livin' foul
In da dark, backin' up dat ass like Juvenile
Hoes on some other shit a head of crowds tryna wipe cum stains from out dey blouse
On dat Brandy "WOW!",
Swore
She was really down
Did some investigatin', sick inside from what da private found
Canvas bound!
Now you see da whole picture
For da Stone, watch how Sharon sliver
Spark da blunt!, pour some mo' liquor
People think dey slick but I come from a product of a different kind of mixture
We ALL have choices, Hearin' Voice's?
Be aware of your surroundings, don't let ya mind succumb to da damn poison

"Flow Unique"

I'm like a titan
A god like Zeus lightening when I'm writin'
Thunderbolts pierce ya melon like a cantaloupe
My words touch people when they open notes in da envelope
Love remains da anchor on any boat
Stay optimistic for fear of losin' any hope
No horoscope!
Eye see da best in people when they decide to put some actions behind dem quotes
Ridin' like a biker boy, not blowin' just a line of Smoke
God's promises what we stand on, in da line of fire
I'm a vet!
A proven writer lining up all my adversaries like a sniper!
Cat's sayin' eye can't win like Talia Shire
But I beg to differ
I'm not a coke sniffer
I'm just a dope spitta!
Sit back!, get high off da residue residing in dis home picture
Pain inflicted from past visions
Artist's searchin' for healin'
Arm in a cast from a broke image
Da older we get, da more dat we value livin'
Breathin' is a privilege!
Or better yet a blessing!
Life convey's intricate lines within da message
Keys to our journey n answers to our questions
My dreams locked behind barz
Marred, by da enemy
I say what I say wit conviction, so remember me!
If not, then remember He!
Da spirit God gave us gives us energy
1:7, 2nd Timothy
Our shortcomings don't define or limit thee
We are da master's of our own ability
Keep da faith, stay humble peepz n have some humility
Plant seeds like fertility to bring forth some serenity
Bringin' forth new life in da banks of deez memories
Eternity!
Infinity!
My sub-conscious battles wit da centerpiece
Tidal waves cut from da ocean reef
Flow unique!

"Life's A Bitch"

Life's a bitch
Wit no label!, no warning!
Traumatized by da ills of da post-traumatic
What I post is not meant to lavish
Been a victim of some bad habits
Mind sullen, ex-warrior like Chris Mullin
Internal War, interrogation
When you become complacent
Datz da moment you stop elevatin'
Goals
Dream-chasin'
Still tryna clear out da stuff in my inner basement
Overpopulated population smokin' fumes dyin' from inhalation
Stress n aggravation
Father's in da home annihilated
Life's a bitch like AZ stated so congratulations!
It's up to you to work thru da shit, I'm paraphrasin'
No marriage made in heaven, no exception!
Da union's what you make it
I should of took my time instead of tryna force creation
But time waits for no one yo! n times a waistin'
Drained from da stains of da rigorous rigid pain
Switch it up now!, find ya purpose
If you was fortunate by da grace of God to survive death upon dis surface
He clutch me twice, just to say dat makes me nervous!
But I'm ova it, constricted to whole other element
In da scheme of things tho, ya past is irrelevant
Forgin' new paths to erase me-stakes dat eye made
Condemned!
Faith shaken!
Still eye pray
And if Shine survive thru dis bitter cold
Maybe it could give someone strength to not give up when shit is lookin' kinda low
Do dis for my sistah's n my younger bro's
Road ahead is treacherous wit many traps
Potential seen, beware of slidin' thru da cracks
If ya flesh get attached to da paper den dey gon' market dat
I don't just spit it live it wit lyric's livid in da fire y'all, I spark da match!
Dropped it den turned my back
Walked away from da flames wit a enlightened view from da wreckage of da crap
Finally seen da shadow of disloyal cats
Teach people thru my raps
Give you me!, give you he!, give you she!, let you know dat life is more than just a B
Between deez pages, how eye set my soul free
Unchained like Django, Jamie, Kerry no slave to a industry
But dat will only come when we recognize da enemy
Cut da cord on our own deficiencies
Intermediate forces suckin' up our energy
Nonetheless, life's still a freakin' bitch got my hand up her dress
Tryin' to regain da organ dat she snatched
Datz my Heart
Or remain "Powerless" like Linkin Park

"If Only"

Cold case, most of humanity a cold race but still i rise
What's da purpose in deez damn tears eye cry?
When eye die, will they mourn? contemplatin' on how they did me wrong
If only eye could turn back da hands of time slidin' in da hour glass
Eye would rectify my past
Take da good times i had n make em' last
Tears of a clown hidin' under a distorted mask
If only life, i could've got a grasp
A voice for poetry reachin' to da high heaven's
Cryin' for my sistah's n my brethren's
At God's discretion
Eye lived among so much deception, battled demons of depression
Dis cruel world full of temptation had me stressin'
There's a parable in everything
If only i had da chance to fly, eye would've spread my wings like a damn Troop 21 gun salute!
Some say i lived as a hermit or became a mute, my verses go ova heads like a roof, dat i provided
Ya logic not makin' no sense so tell me what we got in common?
If only we had took a sec to analyze da problem
We would've fared a better chance from people prayin' dat we fell flat on our faces
Down da staircases
In da basement felt da fire ragin' no containment!
If only cooler heads had prevailed or if we would've seen da error in our very selfish ways, our future could've been brighter wit some better sunny dayz
It's fucked up when da money plays a vital part
Strangle-hold on da mind n da heart, da violence BARKS!!!
If only we got a moment to cut those strings from da harp
Maybe then it would've been a very different song
Somewhere we belonged
Luggage in da cab gotta go! da meter's on
If only eye wasn't a ghost like Patrick Swayze, maybe then you could've felt da love scintillating in my palms
But it's too late!, cause now I'm gone
